On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, our 11th grade students took the stage for the 2026 11th Grade Soapbox Finals for the Seal of Civic Readiness, delivering powerful speeches with voice, purpose, and confidence. Congratulations to our winners and to every finalist who participated and represented their class with pride.
Brought to you by our 11th grade English and U.S. History teachers, this event highlights student voice, civic awareness, and public speaking excellence.
A special thank you to all students who participated and to the 11th grade English and U.S. History teachers who helped prepare students and celebrate their hard work throughout the process. We also extend our appreciation to our principal, Dr. Nicotri, for his continued support, and to Ms. Andrew, the 11th grade guidance counselor, for her assistance. Additional thanks to AP Winchester and AP Musialik for their support of this event and for helping to make it possible.
Thank you as well to our judges for their time and support of our students.
Last but not least, thank you, Dr. Chiavola and Mr. Canobbio, for putting this event together in partnership with the 11th grade English and U.S. History teams and helping make this celebration of student voice possible.
Finally, thank you to everyone who was part of this event, students, staff, families, and supporters, for helping create an uplifting and memorable celebration of student leadership and civic readiness.

MCSM PTA and Title I PAC leaders hosted a parent art wellness and peace to the soul workshop on Tuesday, December 9 PTA meeting.

Prior to the visit students researched one of the NYC artists featured in the exhibit and shared with their classmates what they learnt about their assigned artist and their artist's impact on the art world and NYC.

On November 7, 2025, we welcomed students from Prague, Czech Republic, for a day of connection and learning. They gave a lively presentation about the Czech Republic, Prague, notable mathematicians and scientists, the Czech education system, their school, and the many things our countries have in common. Our NHS members hosted the visit, meeting the guests, guiding them to classes, and leading a campus tour. Thank you to everyone who helped make the day welcoming, informative, and fun, especially AP Salek, who arranged the visit.
