Dear MCSM Families,
As you may have heard, this school year, metrocards are being replaced with OMNY cards. MCSM will distribute these OMNY cards based on eligibility as determined by the DOE. We do not have the authority to give cards to students who are not on our eligibility list that is provided for us with the shipment of cards, therefore, if there is a problem, you must check your address on file first to make sure it's correct, and if there is a problem, email Transportation Coordinator Olga Nunez: ONunez3@schools.nyc.gov.
PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT MCSM WILL NOT BE ABLE TO IMMEDIATELY REPLACE LOST OR STOLEN OMNY CARDS. STUDENTS MUST TREAT THEIR CARDS WITH CARE. WE DO NOT HAVE REPLACEMENTS AND CANNOT PROVIDE THEM. Therefore, if a student loses their card, they will not immediately receive a replacement card. In addition, there will be no replacements after a first replacement card has already been issued. Students must be responsible with these valuable omny cards.
With the new Student OMNY Cards, students get:
Four free rides a day, all year long!
This means more free rides than a Student MetroCard, with service available:
24/7/365 – including weekends, summers, and holidays.

Important:
Eligible students are only allowed one form of transportation which is in the form of Yellow bus or a student OMNY card but not both.
Students who reside at distance A are not eligible for transportation, so avoid handing out passes to students who are not eligible as this will throw off your school’s inventory. (*ELIGIBILITY CHART HAS BEEN EMAILED TO ALL STUDENTS AND PARENTS*)
